Mufid “Murph” Najjar is the owner of Liberty Pharmacy, where he is certified to administer immunizations and to compound. Having moved to the United States from Lebanon in the early 90s, Murph attended and graduated from the College of Pharmacy at the University of Massachusetts in Boston where he became a licensed pharmacist in Texas in 1996. After graduating from pharmacy school, Murph became employed with the Osco Drug/Sav-on Drug/Albertsons corporation, where he held positions as Staff Pharmacist, Pharmacy Manager, and eventually District Operations Manager for the Austin area. Upon Albertsons’ exit from the Austin market in late 2007, Murph decided to open his own independent pharmacy. Murph’s goal was realized with the opening of Liberty Pharmacy in April of 2008.
Cathy Tannery is the Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) at Liberty Pharmacy, where she is certified to administer immunizations and to compound. She attended and graduated with honors from the College of Pharmacy at the University of Texas – Austin in 1986, at which time she became employed with the Albertsons corporation as a Staff Pharmacist. Cathy worked for Albertsons for 20 years, most of which was spent as the Pharmacy Manager at various locations in Austin/Round Rock/Pflugerville. With the exit of Albertsons from the Austin area in late 2007, Cathy briefly went to work for ALK Pharmaceuticals before taking a job with HEB as a Staff Pharmacist and eventually a Pharmacy Manager. Cathy came on board with Liberty Pharmacyin May of 2011, when a part-time pharmacist position became available, and she was soon promoted to PIC.
Pharmacy Tech & Operations Manager
Chris Roberts is the Pharmacy Operations Manager at Liberty Pharmacy, where he is certified to compound and is nationally certified and state licensed as a technician. He attended and graduated from MacMurray College in Illinois, where he received dual BA degrees in Psychology and French in 1998. Chris began working for Osco Drug in Illinois in 1997, and he eventually transferred to Albertsons in Texas, when he moved to Austin in 2000 to attend UT – Austin for film school. He quickly became a Corporate Pharmacy Trainer for all Albertsons stores in the Austin area and was promoted to Technician Specialist. With the exit of Albertsons from the Austin area, Chris opened Liberty Pharmacy with Murph in April of 2008.
